About HabenEri

HabenEri Inc., also known as the North America Support Group of Eritreans with Disabilities, is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the United States.

We are a group of Eritreans, part of the Eritrea U.S. diaspora, committed to supporting Eritreans with disabilities, most of whom are war-disabled veterans who made profound sacrifices for their country.

Our mission is to provide sustainable financial, material, and professional support through monthly gifts, one-time donations, fundraising, and volunteer service. We provide a support group and help Eritreans with disabilities improve their quality of life in a way that honors their dignity, capacity, and individual needs.

How HabenEri Started

In 2023, one of our founding members visited Eritrea and saw the lack of basic support many disabled people were facing. Many of these needs were practical and urgent, which is the kind of needs the Eritrean diaspora could help meet through organized giving and professional support. HabenEri was created as a nonprofit to turn that awareness into action and make a difference in the lives of thousands.

A future where Eritreans with disabilities, including war-disabled veterans, are not forgotten after their sacrifice but supported, valued, and given the resources needed to live with dignity.

How We Assist the Eritrean Disabled Veteran Community

Through donations and volunteer support, we help provide three key areas of assistance to Eritreans with disabilities and war-disabled veterans.

Our Mission Is Volunteer-led and Donation-funded

HabenEri is led entirely by volunteers. We do not operate with paid staff, and our work is driven by service, accountability, and commitment to the Eritrean community.

Our purpose is simple: to make life easier, healthier, and more dignified for Eritreans with disabilities.

How to Support Us

The work of HabenEri is made possible through the generosity of members,
donors, and fundraising activities. All contributions are tax-deductible as
allowed by law and are directly allocated to our program activities.

HabenEri Inc. is officially authorized to raise funds on behalf of individuals
with disabilities in Eritrea. We maintain a proud partnership with the Eritrean
National Disabled Veterans and Civilians Association to support their ongoing
commitment to enabling Eritreans with disabilities to lead healthy and
dignified lives
